Nimes


The city was an important outpost of the Roman Empire. Its known for well-preserved monuments such as the Arena of Nîmes, a 70 A.D. amphitheater still in use for concerts and bullfights. The Maison Carrée white limestone temple and Pont du Gard tri-level aqueduct are around 2000 years old.
